Why refurbishing furniture is a great idea...

Ever had a picture in your mind of something you want, but can't find it anywhere? We'll I've been having those mental images for almost two months now of how I want to redecorate the boy's room and decorate mini-me's room. I've been searching high and low on every furniture website known to man, and as of yet, I have been unable to find something to fit my mental picture.

So as crazy as it sounds (and it is crazy), I will be refurbishing some old furniture to get what I want. I've been checking craigslist for weeks, and while I haven't found the pieces I'm looking for yet, I know they will show up soon. And when they do I will be there to pounce on them like a tiger eyeing it's prey!!

I love the vibrancy these pieces give to children's rooms--it's not the same ole, same ole thing when you think of a nursery. I don't want something everyone else has. I want something different-unique. If my children are anything like me, they will want the same thing.

I hope to get started within the next month or so finding pieces and stripping, painting and what not. But I'm not going to rush myself and by the first thing that I see.

Besides-I need to wait for my fabric samples to arrive first!
